On Monday The Core Project exhibit opens at Guayaki Yerba Mate Bar in Sebastopol. All 24 entries including the four winners in a contest to redesign downtown Sebastopol will be on display through April 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with one after hours exhibit on Wednesday (4/11) from 5 to 8 p.m. Free at 6784 Sebastopol .Ave. Call Holly Hansen at 526-6677 for more information.

On Friday the Graton Flower Show and Sale opens and runs through Saturday at the Graton Community Club at the corner of Graton and Edison Rds. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The theme is Garden Creatures. Plant sales help fund $1000 scholarships for young people. Call 829-9440 for more information.
On Friday at 2 p.m. at the Sebastopol Senior Center David Kilpatrick, National Table Tennis Champion in 1985, will give a table tennis demonstration and encourage seniors to take up this fun way getting exercise. Free. Call 829-2440 to make reservations.
On Friday Polecat and Lonesome Locomotive will play at Aubergine in Sebastopol at 10:30 p.m. The bands are popular for their roots music. Aubergine is at 755 Petaluma Ave. Tickets are $8. Call 827-3460 for more information.

Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods is holding a coast clean-up and restoration. Check-in first at 8:30 a.m. at Sonoma Coast State Park Visitor Center: 10451 Highway 1, Jenner. Projects for the day include Shell Beach trail work, clean up of the Jenner Beach and Estuary, putting up interpretive displays. On Saturday at Analy High School there will be a class in building a solar oven. Temperatures in these sunshine-fueled ovens get to 250-300F. In addition to serving as an emergency preparedness tool (water pasteurization, food-prep), solar ovens are great for cooking on any sunny day. A minimum of 2 people (max 4) are encouraged to sign up together to build an oven. Cost is $50. Register at solarschoolhouse.net/solaroven.
