A Sebastopol man answered an online ad for a motorcycle for sale by offering to pay in marijuana, and when he showed up for the midnight exchange he was met by an undercover Sebastopol officer, reported police Tuesday.
Officers arrested Jason Brown, 35, in a Sebastopol grocery store parking lot at 12:05 a.m. Tuesday, said Sgt. Mike Nielsen.
Brown allegedly had responded to a craigslist ad for a child’s motorcycle, suggesting he use marijuana and a pipe for payment.
Mountain View police were alerted to the offer and contacted Sebastopol as the transaction was due to occur there, said Nielsen.
Officers arrested Brown on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale, a felony, and on suspicion of delivering drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
He was booked into the Sonoma County Jail.

“Suspicion” of possession is a felony? That’s scary even in the USSA.
