When life really is a cabaret
Andrea Van Dyke, popular Sonoma County singer and actress, will turn her musical history into a cabaret Sunday, Nov. 18 from 4 to 6 p.m. The chanteuse will perform the great songs of the decades she has been around (and no, we won’t tell, you have to guess her age). It includes jazz standards, pop and blues, protest and folk classics – with stories, skits and costumes in true cabaret style. She is joined on stage by her diva daughter Leah Van Dyke (from Brothers of Siren), and poet and singer Steve Fowler with accompaniment by John Simon on piano, Brendan Buss on saxophone, and Jake Richmond on guitar. There will be hors d’oeuvres and the $15 admission includes a free glass of champagne. For reservations call 865-2388; or go to brownpapertickets.com/event/286003. Don’t miss this intimate afternoon of entertainment by top notch performers in a cabaret setting.
