Book sale and crafts fairs

There’s a chance to do a lot of shopping this weekend. Friends of the Sebastopol Library are holding a book sale of children’s and young adult books. There will be books, records, CDs, videos, antique books all for the young set on Friday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Got a young reader, movie buff or music lover on your list – this is your chance buy at bargain prices.

Also the Summerfield Waldorf School at 655 Willowside Rd, between Sebastopol and Santa Rosa is holding its 30th annual Winter Faire. There will be handcrafted items for sale by a large number of vendors. On Friday, Dec. 7 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. there is an adult shopping opportunity with drop-in babysitting for $5 an hour per child available. On Sat. Dec. 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. it’s family time. There will be hands-on craft making from candle dipping to puppet making, entertainment, live music and lots of fun.

In Occidental the Occidental Community Council holds its annual Christmas Crafts Fair on Saturday, Dec. 8 and Sunday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be entertainment, food vendors, and lots of handmade things in addition to a great raffle. Admission is free and proceeds benefit community activities. It happens at the YMCA building on Bohemian Highway and Graton Rd.
