From the police blotter
Between the day after Christmas and New Year’s Day Sebastopol Police Department logged 120 items. Police arrested 15 people. They investigated reports of 11 suspicious vehicle reports and nine suspicious persons. Five false alarms got the men in blue rolling, and they towed two cars away, but gave out just three parking tickets. Here are some details.
On Dec. 26 at 10:47 a.m. they got a call from a worried caregiver who could not reach her client on West Rd. on the phone and had been concerned because the client had been depressed. All was well. At 12:59 p.m. police assisted an ambulance crew with a stroke victim on Golden Ridge Ave. At 9:32 p.m. someone found a chocolate lab puppy at Sebastopol Memorial Lawn. At 10:27 p.m. someone was arrested for battery on Jewell Ave. At 11:14 p.m. someone reported losing a cell phone at the Rialto Theater.
On Dec. 27 a man sleeping in a restroom in Ives Park was found to be wanted on a warrant and arrested. At 11:22 a.m. police assisted an ambulance crew with a woman fall victim on Keating Ave. Ambulance crews needed help again at 11:47 a.m. with a stroke victim on Golden Ridge Ave. and once more 3:22 p.m. at Murphy Ave. with a man who had collapsed. At 4:56 p.m. someone called in that a pit bull tied up outside the Sebastopol Cookie Co. was lunging at passers-by but it was gone on arrival.
On Dec. 28 at 9:14 a.m. someone found a child’s bike on N. Main St. AT 9:20 a.m. officers took a report of a burglary at Solmetric on Morris St. that left a broken window behind. At 9:49 a.m. a man was sent on his way after threatening customers at McDonald Restaurant. At 12:29 p.m. officers helped medical personnel when someone fell at the Safeway recycle center. At 3:47 p.m. they ticketed a driver with a suspended license. At 5:04 p.m. someone came in with a bail bondsman to self-surrender on a warrant. At 10:57 p.m. police made an arrest of someone driving without a license on Sebastopol Ave. At 11:53 p.m. they arrested a drunk driver at Rotten Robbies gas station. At 11:54 p.m. someone reported a drunk person on Gravenstein Hwy. S. but he or she was gone on arrival.
On Dec. 29 at 1:07 a.m. a drunk driver was arrested outside the Sebastopol Grange. At 1:29 a.m. cops broke up a loud party on Gravenstein Hwy. S that was disturbing neighbors. At 4:55 a.m. a trespasser at Aubergine was sent on his way. At 6:37 a.m. someone was distressed that an elderly mother was sounding like she was suffering from dementia. They checked and got the lady some help. At 9:13 a.m. a shoplifter was reported at Rite Aid Pharmacy. AT 12:21 p.m. someone was arrested on drug charges at Old Main Street Saloon. At 1:36 p.m. they took a battery report at Jasper O’Farrell’s Pub. At 4:06 p.m. police made a drug bust on Laguna Parkway. At 5:18 p.m. someone found a bicycle on Joe Rodota Trail. At 9:15 p.m. someone heard shots fired on Lynch Rd. At 9:28 p.m. a drunk driver was arrested on S. Main St. At 11:40 p.m. there were shots fired on 1st St.
On Dec. 30 AT 12:27 a.m. police broke up a disturbance at Old Main Street Saloon. At 12:29 a.m. a drunk driver on Sebastopol Ave. was arrested. At 1:01 a.m. someone was arrested for being drunk in public at the Old Main Street Saloon. At 1:47 a.m. someone was arrested for probation violation on Weeks Way. AT 9:43 a.m. someone reported a loose sheltie dragging a leash on Murphy Ave. At 2:35 p.m. someone found a wallet on N. Main St. At 10:05 p.m. another loose dog, possibly hit by a vehicle was reported running off to the cemetery from Golden Ridge Rd. but police couldn’t find it. At 10:50 a.m. a drunk driver was arrested on Pleasant Hill Ave. At 11:07 p.m. police were unable to locate a prowler on West St.
On Dec. 31 at 10:55 a.m. someone reported a lost wallet on Gravenstein Hwy. S. At 1:24 a.m. someone reported a stolen iPod on Gravenstein Hwy. N. At 2:15 p.m. a bull terrier was found on Calder Ave. At 2:40 p.m. someone reported an identity theft on Swains Woods Terrace. At 7:17 a warrant arrest was made on Petaluma Ave. At 8:05 p.m. police responded to a worried resident on West St. reported someone standing in the dark watching the house but couldn’t be located. At 9:33 p.m. someone was arrested on a warrant at O’Reilly Assoc. At 10:13 p.m. a driver with a suspended license was ticketed on Sebastopol Ave. At 10:19 p.m. police responded to a disturbance on West St. and arrested one of the disturbers. At 10:53 p.m. a drunk driver was hauled off to jail from Sebastopol Ave.
On Jan. 1 police made their first arrest of 2013 at 12:45 a.m. when they made a drug bust on N. Main St. At 1:02 a.m. they arrested someone for probation violation on Burnett St. At 2 a.m. an ambulance assist ended in an arrest at Hopmonk Tavern. At 2:32 a.m. another drunk driver was hauled off Sebastopol Ave. At 1:27 a.m. vandalism was discovered in the downtown plaza. At 9:11 p.m. a miniature doggie ran off from its Murphy St. home.
