Graton and Forestville lose their sweet Sister Gum Drop

 

Donna Francis passed away peacefully at her home Jan. 5 at age 81 after a brief bout with cancer. She was the “Mom” of the Sisters of Perpetual Cookies, a group that volunteers to bake holiday cookies for the Food For Thought AIDS Food Bank. Her baking name was Sister Gum Drop, and she was a strong force in group, a maternal figure to everyone.

A memorial service will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, in the Grinton Chapel at the Center for Spiritual Living, 2075 Occidental Road in Santa Rosa. The  service will be followed by a finger food potluck. Donations in her honor can be made to the Food For Thought Food Bank that meant so much to her. And anyone is invited to put on an apron and join the Sisters of Perpetual Cookies. Just email ntello30@gmail.com.
