Transition Sebastopol Energy Group is beginning a series of Clean Energy field trips beginning Tuesday (2/19) at 6:30 p.m. when the group meets at Solar Works at 400 Morris St. Suite C in Sebastopol. The group is seeking energy solutions in the face of climate change.
A speaker, Calvin Terrell, will speak at Analy High School at 5:30 p.m. on social justice vs. violence and better living vs. addiction and other topics. The students will serve a pasta dinner afterwards for $5. The talk is free. Analy High School is on High School Rd.
“Infidels Abroad” is the name of historic fiction book by Patrick Fanning, Graton artist and author, that Occidental Center for the Arts will launch on Friday (2/22) at 7 p.m. Mark Twain and John Singer Sergeant visit the empires, Russian and Spanish, facing off from opposite sides of the Russian River.
Sebastopol Ag Boosters are holding a Western dinner dance on Friday (2/22) at Holy Ghost Hall at the corner of Gravenstein Hwy. N and Mill Station Rd. in Sebastopol. Analy High School jazz band will provide the music at a fund raising dance for adults called “In the Mood” on Saturday (2/23). The tickets are $25 at the door, $20 in advance. They are available at Copperfield Books or at analybandwagon.com. The proceeds benefit Analy music programs. There will regional fine wines and ales for sale. It all happens at Sebastopol Center for the Arts on High St. (the Sebastopol Veterans Memorial Building).
Sebastopol Community Cultural Center is bringing a Grammy Award winner to the stage on Sunday (2/24) at 7:30 p.m. David Alvin and the Guilty Ones and Marshall Crenshaw will play their gritty American folk and blues music.
